Granny magic has gone out of style. This is a good beginning to an interesting series and I have read them all. Paranormal mystery and romance that will keep you reading into the night.
Set in post WW2 small town Oklahoma, this story shows a slice of home grown, natural magic and the typical fear towards what doesn't fit the norm. Well written, leaves you wanting to know this family more.
The story was ok but it just seem to run together and a few misprint but I liked it and I will probably read the next two.
Book was slow and the endings not the best. I am not interested in book 3 at this point. I had already purchased book 2 when I got this free one.
A tale from the post WW II era, of a small town and the family that kept them all safe.
This book pleased me greatly. It is suspenseful and compassionate, and I want to read the other books in the series. I recommend it to anybody who likes romance, magic, and historical fiction.
I want to say first that my parents grew up in this region of western Oklahoma, and I think the local detail is very true to life (except my parents had no acquaintance with granny magic).
I love the compassionate, realistic characters in this book who struggle with the "gifts" they've been given. Despite ostracism for being witches, they are devoted to their community.
