For those interested in the history of firearms and shooting this is an early review of automatic pistol shooting. Though an U.S. citizen ( Gold Medal for U.S. A. in 1908 Olympics) he lived most of his life in the U.K. where he was a top competitive shooter and all 'round eccentric... The book does wander, but there is material - several chapters are devoted to late dueling pistols and protocol - but this is perhaps covered in this detail nowhere else. If you have a gun...good luck! Pretty good stuff. I learned a lot of tips reading this kind of book. It was an interisting guide for me.
The book covers older firer arms and goes into to much history of the author. The book may be ok for some but not me sorry.
Winans at his acerbic and self-approving best.
