I know these types of devotions are by nature short and that would be my only complaint. I wish they were just a little bit longer!! I always found myself wanting more! The book is very well written, clear and easy to understand, telling of and explaining Advent and how ths time in the Church year prepares mankind for the coming celebration of the birth of our Saviour.This would be a very good teaching tool as well for the confirmation age child as well as the adult reader. .
Like other Paul L. Maier books, I found this book informative and faithful. The explanation of the prophesies was a special treat. I liked the prayers at the end of each chapter. For some reason I was moved to tears several times. Maybe it's because what God has done for us that we couldn't do for ourselves is so moving. I want to share this book as a gift to my son-in-law.
Great Advent book- wonderful to use
A straightforward advent devotional. Not quite up to Maier standards.
Excellent information! It really makes you think about things from different perspectives. I will be reading it again next Advent.
Paul Maier always captures the true doctrine of scripture in all of his writings. Whether it is a commentary, translation or fiction it always is true to fact and never violates the truth of Gods Word.
